LA's Annenberg Space For Photography is throwing a day long photo and music festival called Photosynthesis. The outdoor event features country and blues bands as well as photographers onstage, video wall displays of their photos and a variety of booths, activities and refreshments. The event ties into Country: Portraits of an American Sound, a photo exhibit with portraits of country musicians. Overall it sounds like a creatively themed festival that could provide inspiration for other fresh combinations.

[Photosynthesis](http://www.annenberg25.org/photosynthesis/?ref=hypebot.com) takes place Saturday, August 9 outside the Annenberg Space For Photography in Century City's Century Park.

The live stage will combine presentations by photographers whose work will be shown on LED video walls. Ameilia Davis will discuss the Jim Marshall Archive, Ethan Russell will perform sections from a show based on his book "American Story" and Mark Seliger will share his work.

In between photo presentations country and blues bands will perform including The Murphy Family Band, Run Roy Run, The James Harman Band and Rusty Truck.

Special touches include "complimentary photo booths" for online sharing, food trucks and free portfolio reviews for those who signed up early.

The event connects to Annenberg's photo exhibit [Country: Portraits of an American Sound](http://www.annenbergspaceforphotography.org/exhibition/country?ref=hypebot.com) which can be viewed by attendees.

A related [Country In The City](http://www.annenberg25.org/country-in-the-city/?ref=hypebot.com) series of free performances takes place outside over the summer with such guests as Gregg Allman and Wynonna.

Though Photosynthesis is part of Annenberg's ongoing work, it's also a good point of reference to start brainstorming new possibilities for music festivals tied into related areas of interest.

In addition to offering creative points of reference, fresh combinations can also open music festivals to new forms of sponsorships and provide musicians the opportunity to reach new fans.
