Advertising, and the profit made from it, on sites that offer or link to unauthorized and uncompensated content has long been major problem for the music industry. A new report, "[Good Money Gone Bad](https://www.hypebot.com/content/files/media-gractions-com/314A5A5A9ABBBBC5E3BD824CF47C46EF4B9D3A76/4af7db7f-03e7-49cb-aeb8-ad0671a4e1c7.pdf)" published by the Digital Citizens Alliance, estimates that the major pirate sites generate $227 million in yearly ad revenue including major brands like Amazon, McDonalds and Xfinity.
