Already on board as a client is the **Indian Performing Rights Society** (IPRS), that country’s only registered copyright society administering musical works.**• Berklee College Of Music** has named **Kim Perlak** as chair of the Guitar Department. Perlak joined Berklee in 2013 as assistant chair of guitar. She becomes the first woman to chair the department, and only the fourth person to hold the position since the college added guitar as a principal instrument in 1962\. Perlak now leads the college’s second largest instrument group with nearly 1,000 students.• **Merlin** payments to member labels in **Japan are up 70%** year over year, according to the indie music licensor, as the local music market finally begins to transition from physical and downloads to streaming.• The New York Chapter of the Association of **Independent Music Publishers (AIMP)** will present independent music publisher **Reservoir** with the prestigious 2018 New York Chapter Indie Award at the Chapter’s annual Holiday Party, taking place Wednesday, December 5, at 5:30 p.m. at The Princeton Club in New York City. • **accesso Technology Group plc** (AIM: ACSO), a technology solutions provider to leisure, entertainment and cultural markets has announced a strategic partnership with **Groupon** to utilize the **Ingresso** distribution platform to connect with some of the biggest names in entertainment and leisure. The integration, which will launch in late Fall 2018, will allow for a seamless mobile experience for Groupon customers across Ingresso’s supplier network, as well as enable current accesso clients to sell their tickets through the distribution channel in real time.
