RealNetworks has signed a three-year deal to power the music service for SFR, France's most successful operator in mobile music. The service was transitioned to Real's platform on 17 November 2009.

Real also powers the music services of mobilkom austria group's A1 in Austria, and Vodafone music stores in 9 countries, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Germany, Italy, Greece, The Netherlands, Romania and Spain.

"We view this deal as validation of our ongoing efforts to provide the cutting-edge features that operators and their subscribers want," said Andreas Spechtler, managing director, marketing and sales EMEA, RealNetworks. "We welcome our first deployment in France, particularly with an operator which has long been recognized as a leading innovator in mobile music in Europe."

In total, Real's ASP services are currently available through 84 different mobile operators in 45 countries worldwide, making them available to 860.9 million subscribers.
