[**Record Store Day**](https://www.hypebot.com/tag/record-store-day/)has officially unveiled its **Black Friday 2026** lineup, giving music fans and vinyl collectors over 180 reasons to line up outside their local independent record shops on **Friday, November 27.**

While the spring **Record Store Day** remains the flagship global event, RSD Black Friday has carved out its own essential space in the music industry calendar. Instead of fighting big-box holiday retail crowds, RSD Black Friday redirects the busiest shopping day of the year into local, independent music businesses.

New this year, the vinyl lineup is being driven just as heavily by Gen-Z pop, trap, and soundtracks as it is by legacy rock acts.

### **Top Releases for RSD Black Friday 2026**

Whether fans are looking for first-time pressings, 20th-anniversary editions, or highly sought-after picture discs, this year’s list spans every genre. Here are some of the most anticipated drops hitting independent record stores:

- **Noah Kahan:** Kahan continues his physical media dominance with two releases. *The Last of the Bugs* gets a 12-inch EP pressing on 180-gram Alpenglow-colored vinyl, while his *Hunger Games* contribution, *Draw You Out*, arrives on 7-inch vinyl.
- **Playboi Carti:** In a massive win for hip-hop collectors, Carti’s hit 2025 album *MUSIC – SORRY 4 DA WAIT* is making its very first appearance on vinyl via an exclusive red 2-LP set.
- **Wicked: The Complete Soundtrack:** Musical theater fans are being treated to a stunning 4-LP slipcase set housed in a pink and green "W" box. The collector's set combines the soundtracks from both *Wicked* films featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

- **Heritage & Classic Acts:** As always, older demographics are well served with exclusive live albums and reissues from **Bruce Springsteen** (*Live at Tower Theatre Philly 1975*), **Prince** (*Live at 3121 Las Vegas*), **Billy Joel** (*Billy Joel Tonight*), and **Joni Mitchell**.

### **Hypebot's Bottom Line**

The 2026 RSD Black Friday lineup is a masterclass in modern music merchandising. For years, the narrative surrounding physical media was that it only catered to legacy acts and older audiophiles. Releases from Gen-Z juggernauts like Noah Kahan, Playboi Carti, Sombr, and KATSEYE shatter that myth.

For independent artists and labels, the takeaway is clear: physical media is no longer a relic, it is a high-demand, high-margin merch table power player. Fans across *all* genres are craving tactile, limited-edition touchpoints from the artists they stream.

By creating thoughtful, exclusive physical products, you aren't just selling music—you are creating communal events that drive revenue and actively support the independent retail ecosystem.
