The **6th Annual Record Store Day** is just a few weeks away on April 20th and anticipation is rising with news of the **full list of upcoming exclusive vinyl releases**. There are also an interesting range of related book and DVD releases as well as a variety of contests.

[Record Store Day](http://www.recordstoreday.com/?ref=hypebot.com) is a big event for record stores, musicians and vinyl lovers alike. In addition to the website and [participating stores](http://www.recordstoreday.com/Venues?ref=hypebot.com), you can download the free [updated RSD Guide App](http://www.recordstoreday.com/app?ref=hypebot.com) for Android and iOS.

As [previously noted](https://www.hypebot.com/vinyl-news-ambassador-jack-white-beat-delete-crowdfunds-op-vinyl-we-buy-white-albums/) Jack White is this year's Record Store Day Ambassador and a fine choice he is.

**Just Like Being There – Gig Poster Documentary**

"[Last Shop Standing](http://lastshopstanding.com/?ref=hypebot.com)," which I covered [last year](https://www.hypebot.com/did-major-labels-kill-vinyl-plus-vinyl-only-ep-label-3d-print-your-own-fisher-price-discs/), is a documentary about UK record shops. It's coming out in the States [on DVD](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00BCJ0VJS/hypebot-20?ref=hypebot.com) and is this year's [Official Film of Record Store Day](http://www.recordstoreday.com/NewsItem/3368?ref=hypebot.com).

A related documentary, "[Just Like Being There](http://justlikebeingtheremovie.com/?ref=hypebot.com)," focuses on the gig poster and debuted at SXSW 2012\. The DVD release is [listed on Amazon](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00BFG5V7U/hypebot-20?ref=hypebot.com) for June 4th but apparently they're doing a [Special Release](http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/6192?ref=hypebot.com) for Record Store Day.

The hardback edition of John Densmore's new book "[The Doors Unhinged](http://www.recordstoreday.com/NewsItem/3466?ref=hypebot.com)" is also a Record Store Day exclusive.
