In an age where many established artists can’t find a place on the radio, smart record labels have to find creative ways to make an impact in the marketplace. That’s just what Shout!Factory has done by pairing soul and R&B legend Solomon Burke with alt-country icon and producer Buddy Miller. Burke has just returned from Nashville where he recorded a CD for September releases that includes appearances by Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris, Gillian Welch, Patty Griffen, Sam Bush Miller and others,. Billboard tells the full story [here.](http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060417/music%5Fnm/burke%5Fdc%5F1?ref=hypebot.com)

*PS -Hypebot admits that we’re both huge fans of Burke and involved in his booking.*
