# Songkick Adds 100,000 New Users With Spotify App In Just 4 Months.

(UPDATED) Concert app **Songkick** shared today that they registered **100,000 new users** since launching a special Spoitfy app less than four months ago. The company says that millions of personalized concert alerts for **50,000 concerts** have been sent to users who registered through Spotify. Songkick's success on the platform is also good news for Spotify who bet that a growing echo-system of apps will help them fight off increasingly aggressive competition from **Rdio, Deezer, Rhapsody** and others.

Fans using the app receive email alerts when artists they are tracking in their Spotify library announce new shows in cities they've selected. Songkick recently [**raised $10 Million from Sequoia Capita**l](https://www.hypebot.com/songkick-raises-10-million-from-sequoia-capital/), and is also backed by **Index Ventures** and **Y Combinator**.

**Songkick Helps Aritsts Promote Shows**

In addition to Spotify and their own site and apps, Songkick’s live music information is distributed via their API to a network that includes **Bandcamp, foursquare, VEVO, Warner Music Group** and **YouTube**.

“This is all great news for bands," said Songkick **CEO Ian Hogarth** told Hypebot. "With your music on Spotify and **your concerts on Songkick**, we’ll help get more fans to your shows wherever you are touring. Keep adding your tour dates to Songkick and we’ll keep moving them all over the web."
