Now, joining the Spotify team that built **Fan Insights** analytics and **Concerts** show recommendations, is the newly acquired crew from **CrowdAlbum.**

Spotify has acquired CrowdAlbum for an undisclosed sum.

Launched in 2013, CrowdAlbum aggregates concert photos and videos. The resulting albums offer a visual history of the tours and help artists connect with some of their most passionate fans. More than 1000 artists and venues in the US use CrowdAlbum including Diplo, Death Cab for Cutie, Lil Wayne and Fallout Boy.

The acquisition was likely not an expensive one for Spotify, and may be more of an acquire hire. CrowdAlbum had only raised $100,000 in seed funding back in 2014.

"We're working every day to find ways to tighten the connection between artists and their fans,” said Charlie Hellman, VP Product at Spotify. “The CrowdAlbum acquisition is the latest way Spotify is investing in helping artists find and engage their audiences on and off Spotify, especially around the ever important business of touring."
