Spotify is slowly rolling out Clips, a 30-second vertical video feature for artists that will remind you very much of TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. ‘

Michael represents several artists who already have access, and he and Jay discuss some of the issues that need to be addressed before it’s released widely on a new Music Biz Weekly podcast.

Some of the problems: the Spotify FAQ tells you to build videos at the wrong size, different-sized videos are displayed depending on whether you are on a smartphone or a tablet, and there is a complete lack of even basic stats, including how many times a clip has been played.
