Spotify announced today that it has launched in Brazil with a full catalog including many thousands of local artists. Brazil is the world's 8th largest music market generating $257.2 million in sales annually. Today's announcement puts the music streamer in 57 markets globally.

Despite increased competition. last week [Spotify](http://www.spotify.com/?ref=hypebot.com) announced that it has 10 million paying subscribers and more than 40 million active users in 56 markets worldwide. That's up from 24 million active users and 6 million paying subscribers just over a year ago.
