Minutes after a story leaked that Apple Music has passed 10 million paid subscribers in its first 6 months, Spotify’s head of communications Jonathan Prince tweeted that, despite Apple's growth and increased competition from others, “subscriber growth in the last six months of 2015 was the fastest ever."

Price's comment comes amid strong indications that Spotfy has passed 25 million paying subscribers and is well on its way to 100 million total paid and ad supported users.
