Spotify will reportedly follow its major streaming music competitors and raise its U.S. premium subscription price from $9.99 to $10,99.

The U.S. price hike is expected to be announced next week, followed by increases in “dozens of markets globally in the coming months, sources tell the [Wall Street Journal](https://www.wsj.com/articles/spotify-plans-to-raise-price-of-premium-plan-in-u-s-77c3f360?ref=hypebot.com).

Exactly when it will take effect is unclear. How this increase fits with Spotify’s [reported launch of a “Supremium” HiFi audio ](https://www.hypebot.com/spotify-to-finally-add-higher-priced-supremium-audio-tier/)tier is also unclear.
