Taylor Swift is being sued for copyright infringement over her 2014 hit "Shake It Off."

According to The Daily News, U.S. R&B singer Jesse Graham filed suit against Swift, alleging that she stole the lyrics for her hit "Shake it Off" from a song Graham wrote in 2013 called "Haters Gone Hate" which includes the lines "Haters gonna hate, players gonna play."

The 50-year-old musician told the Daily News, "If I didn't write the song 'Haters Gone Hate,' there wouldn't be a song called 'Shake It Off.'"

Swift's "Shake It Off" uses the phrase "Players gonna play, haters gonna hate" throughout the song. However, the phrase has become vernacular and is a frequently used meme on the Internet. According to the website knowyourmeme.com, the phrase first appeared in 3LW's 200 hit “Playas Gon’ Play.”

Before filing the suit, Graham reportedly asked Swift for a writing credit on her album and an opportunity for a 'selfie' with Swift, but she refused his offer.
