Rock is an ever evolving genre. With roots in gospel and folk all the way to steampunk and beyond, a new graphic by designer Brittany Klontz for ConcertHotels.com offers an interactive journey through it all.The influence of music isn't a perfect science, as each genre subtly affects every other one," Klontz told [FastCo](http://www.fastcodesign.com/3021791/infographic-of-the-day/100-years-of-rock-music-in-less-than-a-minute?ref=hypebot.com) Design . "However, to create a clear framework for design, we worked hard to pinpoint specific years when each genre began to take shape, using key albums or singles."

Here is a static version of the graphic. Be sure to view an interactive version [here](http://www.concerthotels.com/100-years-of-rock?ref=hypebot.com).
