On its first anniversary today, TIDAL announced that it has 3 million paid users in 46 countries worldwide. Of those, 45% or about 1.35 million are paying a premium $19,99 per month for hi-fidelity, lossless audio and video.

Exclusive content has always been at the core of TIDAL's pitch; and so alongside today's subscribe numbers were new streaming stats. TIDAL's exclusive debut of Rihanna's "ANTI" album was downloaded 1.4 million times in less than 24 hours ;and Kanye West's "The Life of Pablo" was streamed 250 million times in its first ten days. Noticeably absent were stats for Prince's TIDAL album debut and Beyoncé's "Formation" single exclusive.

Today's TIDAL announcement also touted the livestreaming of more than 1000 concerts and events including Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, which Tidal says was viewed by more than 23 million. In the last year, Lil Wayne, Indochine, Damian Marley and TIP joined Madonna, Beyonce, Kayne West, Jack White, Jay Z and a dozen others as celebrity owners, as well.
