Our [**Touring Radar**](https://www.hypebot.com/tag/touring-radar/) series looks at newly announced tours and live events that stand out not simply because they can generate headlines, but because they offer a glimpse at where [live music](https://www.hypebot.com/tag/live-music/) may be heading.

The scale of an artist's touring activities is never as simple as moving from a small room into a bigger one. This week’s column follows five artists whose upcoming dates reveal very different ways to build (and rebuild) a live career. Oh and here's a first... a *comedian*!

Touring Radar is supported by [**Bandsintown**](https://bandsintown.com/?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) tour data.

## **1\. Felipe Esparza: One Tour, Several Live-Music Ecosystems**

Here's something we never do, start with a *non-musical* act! Stand-up comedian [**Felipe Esparza’s**](https://www.bandsintown.com/a/213071-felipe-esparza?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) new *Laughter Will Save Us* tour moves through comedy clubs, traditional theaters, and casino entertainment rooms across the US. Esparza is the curveball here, but clearly comedy acts now travel through much of the same infrastructure as music. And his route does not lock him into one touring tier: the room changes with the market, while his streaming specials and long-running podcasts keep feeding the road.

## **2\. Swimming Paul: Mystery Hasn’t Prevented a Fast Touring Rise**

[**Swimming Paul**](https://www.bandsintown.com/a/15533567-swimming-paul?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) only began releasing music in 2023, but the anonymous Paris producer is already touring across Europe, North America, and Australia. After a sold-out Australian tour in 2025, he will return in January for five dates supporting a new album, including Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and Melbourne’s Forum. The mystery has not stopped the live show from becoming the public face of the project. That reverses the traditional route in which an artist establishes a recognizable personality before asking audiences to buy tickets. The Australian return will help show whether this rapid rise can become durable international demand.

## **3\. A$AP Rocky Makes a Late Arena Bet on Australia**

[**A$AP Rocky**](https://www.bandsintown.com/a/1755384-asap-rocky?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) has added four Australian arenas to the *Don’t Be Dumb World Tour*, beginning December 5 at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and continuing through Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. The dates mark his first Australian performances in eight years — but they were announced less than two months before the opening show, in the middle of a crowded summer touring calendar. That short runway makes this more than a routine international extension. Rocky is hedging his bets on whether a long absence, a new album, and his visibility across fashion and film can create enough urgency to overcome limited notice and intense competition.

## **4\. Goo Goo Dolls Show Why Second Billing Isn’t a Demotion**

The[**Goo Goo Dolls**](https://www.bandsintown.com/a/61-goo-goo-dolls?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) spent the summer playing their own extensive run of dates. Next spring, they will occupy a different position: joining Def Leppard’s 45-date North American arena tour. For a long-established band, moving below another name on the poster need not represent a step backward. It can mean larger rooms, less production risk and access to an adjacent audience. Goo Goo Dolls can remain a headliner in one context and become part of a high-value legacy package in another. Flexibility may be more useful than protecting the optics of top billing.

## **5\. Shygirl Is Rebuilding the Club Show Around a Band**

[**Shygirl**](https://www.bandsintown.com/a/246072-shygirl?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900)will support her forthcoming album *Swallow!* with her first major headlining tour featuring a full band. The run begins March 13 in Berlin, moves through Europe and the UK, reaches North America in April with cities including Salt Lake City, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Toronto, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. Adding live musicians is a production upgrade for an artist associated with DJs, club spaces, and electronic performance. It requires the songs to be rearranged and asks audiences to encounter familiar music through a different physical language. It could help Shygirl move between club culture, traditional concert rooms and prestige venues without sanding away what made the original show exciting.

### The One We’ll Be Watching: Shygirl

Every [**Touring Radar**](https://www.hypebot.com/tag/touring-radar/)edition ends with one artist who represents a larger industry question. This week, it’s **Shygirl.**

Shygirl’s tour carries the most intriguing creative risk of the five. A larger room does not automatically need more screens, dancers or effects; sometimes it needs the music itself to change shape. The question is whether the full band will translate Shygirl’s electronic world — or transform it.
