UndergroundMusic.fm is a new free streaming music platform for "underground" musicians designed to build community and spread music. Streaming is free but there's also a store aspect and an option to tip for each song. It's a nice idea that is ultimately dependent on who gets involved and whether or not an audience is drawn.

[UndergroundMusic.fm](http://www.undergroundmusic.fm/?ref=hypebot.com) is in many ways a simple idea that's hard to pull off. Create a solid, straightforward platform for streaming music, include monetization and community elements and build an outpost for great music via any web-connected device.

UndergroundMusic.fm offers enough music to be browsable, options to connect via Facebook to receive recommendations and a quick to grasp user interface.

Overall UndergroundMusic.fm seems well-intentioned but whether or not a thriving community can emerge remains to be seen.
