Online service **[Groupon](http://www.groupon.com/?ref=hypebot.com)** offers locally based discounts which only go into effect if a specific number agree to participate. If 50 people sign up to buy, for example, a pizza for 50% off on Friday from Pure Prairie Pizzeria, the price drops to $5\. If only 49 sign up, the discount isn't valid; so buyers are encouraged to tell their friends about the deal.

Now GroupOn is experimenting with music and helping to **move unsold tickets** to live shows. Other social platforms like Facebook are also experimenting with similar offerings. Here's a video overview of **how GroupOn works:**
