Building upon [the launch of Artists.MTV](https://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2012/08/an-inside-look-into-mtvs-next-big-thing-artistsmtv-.html), Viacom Music Group has expanded
its artist platform offering to now include VH1\. With the beta launch of [Artists.VH1](http://www.artists.vh1.com/?ref=hypebot.com), artists can now have their music
showcased across VH1’s multiple channels, while also utilizing the platform to
act as a singular destination for fans to discover a wide range of artists’
music spanning multiple genres and decades.

For artists, Artists.VH1
is a way to have their music showcased across VH1’s brands, channels and shows,
as well as providing them with another digital presence to claim and page to
program. The platform seeks to provide homesteads for several types of artist
groups that are currently being “underserved” as Viacom puts it, on digital
platforms including AAA (adult album alternative) artists, catalog artists, as
well as R&B and soul artists. Artists can also make tracks available for
streaming with a free download in return for a connection via email, Facebook
or Twitter.

VH1 connects artists and
fans with programs and events like Storytellers, Divas, Behind the Music, Pop
Up Video, Rock Docs, You Oughta Know and Unplugged. The first on-air
integration will take place during [2012 VH2 Divas](http://www.vh1.com/shows/events/divas/%5F2012/?ref=hypebot.com) debuting live on Sunday, December 16 at 9pm
ET/PT.

“The platform offers both established and emerging artists a
homestead where they can have more access to their presence across our screens
to control their image and opt into a myriad of opportunities including music
video rotation and song integration in our programs that will generate both
exposure and revenue,” said Tom Calderone, President of VH1.

In the coming months,
Viacom Music Group will launch Artists.CMT as well as a mobile app for iOS and
Android smartphones. Each of Viacom Music Group’s artist platforms are
powered by [Topspin GoDirect](http://www.topspinmedia.com/product%5Fv2.php?ref=hypebot.com), which
gives tools to artists to claim and customize their own page and have
their music showcased in several different ways across multiple channels and
sites. Artists can upload music, videos and photographs, and sync social
accounts to pull in content from across the web. Soon Viacom promises that artists
will be able to sell music, merchandise, memberships and tickets directly,
right on their page.

Artists can claim or register their page now at [www.artists.vh1.com](http://www.artists.vh1.com/?ref=hypebot.com).
