Take data from **Encyclopedia Metallum** of active and inactive metal bands, compare how many come from each country with the **CIA**'s population numbers and you can create a map of where metal rules. Though metal music was born in the **U.S.** and **UK**, **Finland** is most the metallic country with 53.5 metal bands per 100,000 people, followed by **Sweden** and **Norway** tied at 27.2\. The U.S. and UK has spawned just 5.5 and 5.2 metal bands prer 100K respectively.
