Touring
is important for many musicians, but many do not care enough about why
they are touring in a certain area. In order to create a tour strategy,
musicians need to keep their goals in mind along with these things.
**Simon Tam** reminds musicians that they should build a [tour strategy](http://www.musicthinktank.com/blog/where-you-should-be-touringperforming.html?ref=hypebot.com) that
makes sense for their careers.

“Remember that goals should be **SMART**
(Specific, Measurable, Achievable Relevant, and Timely). Touring should
be a strategic part of your goals, not the strategy itself.” ([Read On](http://www.musicthinktank.com/blog/where-you-should-be-touringperforming.html?ref=hypebot.com))
