# YouTube Says 95% Of All Labels (Including Indies) Are On Board

Despite the strong objections of many in the indie label community, "all but 5% of all labels” have agreed to the terms offered by YouTube for its new music service, according to a new report. A 95% acceptance rate would jive with reports we've recieved that, in addition to the major labels and their independent distribution arms, other indie distributors including The Orchard have also signed the new YouTube contract.

“It’s business. You’ll never get everyone to agree,” a YouTube spokesoerson told the [Death & Taxe](http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/223604/exclusive-youtube-goes-on-record-concerning-changes-to-music-video-services/?ref=hypebot.com)s blog. The spokeperson also suggest that indie trade groups were “misrepresenting their own members” in an effort to “make it sound like this \[change in terms\] impacts all indies… \[it's\] very unfortunate how things have unfolded.” Related articles
