Looking For Podcast Topics
Thanks to Patrick Woodward and Duncan Freeman I’m part of a new bi-montlhy podcast called ArtistDish that explores the convergence of music and tech. You can listen and subscribe to the ArtistDish podcast here. In show #1 we talk about Google’s Lively virtual world plus TopSpin Media and other artist services.
We’re already planning podcast #2 and we would like to know what you want us to discuss. Just email us your suggestions or leave ’em in the comments section below and if we decide to include your topic, we’ll give you props on the show.
Hey Bruce,
I think Terry McBride’s digital single price point is a very interesting point of debate. Obviously, the iTunes $.99 model can not reign for much longer. Yet, is Terry on to something with a $.25/single charge? Although I’m not 100% sold, I do think he’s a lot closer than iTunes.
There is a happy medium between free and pay that has not been discovered yet. As a millennial myself, I would be willing to pay for individual tracks, but not at their current $.99 tag. That sentiment has just as much to do with free alternatives as it does with state of the U.S. economy.
How can you monetize free? I fully believe “you can’t” is not the correct answer. New emerging models like Amiestreet offer enticing alternatives. I think it’s lively debate, and I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
Cheers,
Adam Wexler
Thanks Adam. Great topic idea. Keep ’em coming.
