Shakira Inks $70M Live Nation 360

Shakira Shakira has inked a full 360 with Live Nation for a reported $70-$100 million.  The concert giant will now handle the pop star's recording, touring, merchandising and other rights. But first she must deliver three records to Epic: one English, one Spanish and a greatest hits.

These deals leave me asking : Do mega 360's like this which join LN's portfolio of Madonna, U2 and Jay-Z really make financial sense?  And how can labels, who have no concert arms, compete? Or could concert competitors like AEG and C3 partner with major labels to offer their own alternative?
