Following the leak of their new album, indie rockers the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are digitally rush releasing "It's Blitz" digitally to the beginning of next week, several weeks prior to the original street date. The date of the physical format release remain the same.  The band wrote on their web site:

The cat's out of the bag after IT'S BLITZ! escaped from our clutches into the big bad world last week. Why should some have and some have-not?

Yeah yeah yeahs
IT'S BLITZ! OFFICIAL NEW RELEASE DATES:

YYYs have been brimming with nervous excitement in anticipation of releasing this record to the world! Leaks are NO FUN but it's out of our hands. Can't help but ask ourselves, "What would the PHILOSOPHER do in times such as these?" We now present PART II of the SNAKESWEAT TRILOGY, Mr. Brian Chase soothing our troubled souls in THE PHILOSOPHER. LUV YYYs

Will the buzz boost created by the leak and subsequent rush release help the band's sales or will it just drive more fans to P2P?  It could be hard to measure since early week sales will already not include those that prefer to own the CD.
