Publisher Bug Music & Kings Of Leon Launch Label

Bug music Indie publishing giant Bug Music has launched a new record label with Kings Of Leon. Details of the first release on the imprint, The Features “Some Kind of Salvation,” will be announced next week.

The new venture is part of a creative deal the two parties entered into in the fall of 2008 which allow the Kings Of Leon to sign and develop artists with Bug Music. The first artist signed is fellow Tennessee brethren The Features who toured with the Kings in the UK and US in 2007.

“Caleb, Jared, Matthew and Nathan (of Kings Of Leon) are extraordinary tastemakers and constantly absorbing new sounds from all over the world,” said Bug CEO John Rudolph. “The honesty in their music is what draws them to genuine artists. We are excited about developing new artists together as Bug Music continues to innovate and challenge the industry’s traditional thinking of a publisher.”

Critically lauded in the U.K., The Features recently performed at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and are slated to hit the road throughout the U.S. this summer and fall in support of the album release. “Some Kind of Salvation” was produced by Grammy-Award winning Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Kings Of Leon, Tom Waits, Sea Wolf) and Brian Carter at his Paradox Production facility in Murfreesboro, TN. The band features Matthew Pelham (guitar, lead vocals), Roger Dabbs (bass guitar), Mark Bond (keyboards) and Rollum Haas (drums).
