“Climate change is the greatest humanitarian challenge facing mankind
today. And it is a challenge that has a grave injustice at its heart,
says Mr. Anan. "It is the major developed economies of the world which
contribute the overwhelming majority of global greenhouse emissions.
But it is the poorer and least developed nations that are hit hardest
by its impact. By downloading the song, people from around the world
will add their names to this growing global petition, and together we
will create such a noise our leaders will listen".

  1. Jesus help us. The factors behind “climate change” have nothing to do with Midnight Oil, shockingly.
Micheal Jackson crammed every star in the country into the same studio to record a track that changed…absolutely nothing at all. Any indicator of human destruction and social problems you could point to in the 80’s is now much worse, sometimes exponentially worse.
This is a lot of wasted noise. It’d be more impressive if these folks figured out methods for touring that didn’t involve so much wasted energy…and it’d be even MORE impressive if even one of them piped up and said it:
“Global warming and pollution have almost nothing to do with you and your consumption. You can buy better lightbulbs and stop taking showers and it doesn’t matter. The damage is being done by the wealthy elite and their factories and super-consumer lifestyles. Until you deal with class, none of the other issues we rally around for a photo opportunity every year will change.”
