Play.me Launches Music Streaming With 2 Major Labels & Offline Android App

image from www.susanblondinc.com Play.me has launched as a browser-based service offering access to 2.5 million songs to create playlists and customize radio stations that can also be shared and streamed on social networks. On board at launch is Sony, EMI, IODA, The Orchard, and Beggars Group. The company says it is in latter stages of negotiations with the other major labels.

The Dada Entertainment owned company has also developed a caching Android app (click on image to left to enlarge) that allows users to download playlists for offline listening. Similar iPhone and Blackberry apps along with a music news feature are promised in the coming weeks.

Play.me offers both a premium monthly subscription service for $9.99, and a free trial version with limited streaming capabilities and complimentary downloads.
