Struggling music group EMI says that recent reports that The Beatles' famous Abbey Road Studios is for sale are untrue.  "In mid-2009, we did receive an offer to buy Abbey Road for in excess of 30 million pounds ($46 ,illion US), but this was rejected since we believe that Abbey Road should remain in EMI's ownership," EMI said in a statement.

But in the same statement the company admitted that it was seeking help from outside the company. "EMI confirms that it is holding preliminary discussions for the revitalization of Abbey Road with interested and appropriate third parties."

What kind of partnerships can be forged between those iwho might be nterested in preserving Abbey Road and a music group that is in danger of defaulting on it's massive loan obligations is unclear.
