As someone who has spent most of his time in the industry working in the live music sector running booking agency Skyline Music, I know first hand that the relationship between the artist and promoter is not a conversation of equals. There are a lot more bands than their are venues. And which bands should play where and when are too often left to someone with more experience counting beer cases than creating and marketing evening of musical magic.
So as cynical as this video is, I've heard every single one of the absurd verbal jabs delivered at least once in my career. Too often, they've been grouped together in "please tell me you're joking" conversations.
