Gregory Brother’s YouTube “AutoTune News” Hit “Bed Intruder” Grabs #89 On Billboard Hot 100

(UPDATED)

image from mashable.com The Billboard Hot 100 uses a combination of radio airplay, sales and online streaming to rank the most popular songs in the U.S. across all genres. This week, The Gregory Brothers of "AutoTune News" have entered the chart at #89 with "Bed Intruder". The debut chart position was almost entirely the result of 10,571 copies of the track downloaded from iTunes in just two days. The original news video has been watched 4 million times on YouTube.

The song grabs the lyrics from a news story about a women in Alabama who woke up to find an intruder in her bed, and the Gregory Brothers – Evan, Andrew, Michael, and Evan’s wife Sarah – used their auto-tune magic to create a runaway tongue planted firmly in cheek hit.

From The What's Fair Is Fair Department: The victim's brother featured in the news story is getting 50% of the royalties since he did write the lyrics.
