How To Get A Free Tubeify Account

image from atmosphereklubb.files.wordpress.com If blog buzz is any measure, in the last few days music fans can't get enough of free music service Tubeify. This mashup of Last.fm and YouTube allows for unrestricted music discovery and playlisting. It's not Spotify or MOG, but it is free and available everywhere.  Is Tubefy legal?

The creators are obviously hoping to take advantage of the licences that YouTube and Last.fm already pay for. In the past rightsholders have responded inconsistently to similar services.

How to get a free invitation to Tubify:

Just ignore their instructions that say they'll be sending you an invite "when more are available". Click on "Request Invitation" on Tubify.com and enter your email address. Ignore the message that says, "Thank you! We will send you an invite when more are available."  A code and link will arrive in your email inbox or spam folder in seconds. Follow it, sign up and tell us what you think.

  1. I signed up for Tubify last week and played with it. It was not all I expected. I can’t give it my full endorsement yet. I will wait until there are more than 45 artist available. Also, some of the services were not working.

  2. The search engine is ok, they are trying to look like Spotify (top of the page + left sidebar + name), but the quality if the sound is so bad… for a free side service it’s ok, but this really is not the kind of service you could pay of. Or I wouldn’t even accept to be spammed by advert to use it.

  3. Tubeify sucks. It stops and starts and some links not available. It is really poor execution.
Lots of companies have tried this, but nobody executes well.
