The Best Music Video To Ever Go Viral

Dcd 9,985,050 views later, Hypebot found this gem in our Google Alerts. We're not going to slam it.

We're not going to analyze it. We just wanted to let you know that we've seen it and felt that you might want to take a peak. What's scary is that if Ke$ha had released this song, it would become a legitimate hit, and instead of slamming it, people would take it more seriously.

  1. How did you only find it in your Google Alert? Its been a worldwide trending topic on twitter for almost a week and a half? You’re slippin. Are you eating too good at SXSW?

  2. I didin't make it down to SXSW. Bruce did. And, well, music industry news isn't usually a trending topic on Twitter, so that's not normally where we find things to write about. I know we're late on this one.

  3. Kyle – to say you’re not going to slam it and then say it’s “scary” is a contradiction. I have gained a lot of respect for Hypebot for not joining the bandwagon, but now….
Dude, you guys are slamming a 13 year old girl who’s being manipulated by her label and made fun of by the rest of the world. I feel bad for her and have lost a bit of respect for you Kyle (SMH – just in case you’re late on acronyms, that means Shaking My Head).
Stick to posting REAL music news and don’t join the masses.

  4. Hey Greg, thanks for pointing that out. I've adjusted the copy accordingly. I'm well-aware of the label behind this too, and that's probably in the context of what I found most scary. Anyway, thank you for reading. Nothing like seeing rappers old enough to be this girl's father doing a verse.

  5. This label couldn’t get more press for this song if they tried. There also a ton of people covering & parodying the song on youtube & the song is climbing the charts on iTunes. Horrible song or not, it’s working in the label’s favor.
Unfortunately the song sticks in your head.

  6. Entertainment is not necessarily good music, but also really bad music. William Hung, case in point. We’re all in a circus. Some of us are clowns and some of us are acrobats.
This looks like a bad case of the business community making creative decisions instead of backing creative decisions. Or may be someone in the creative community missed their calling to be a suit?

  7. It’s remains fascinating to me that what makes this story popular and relevant is predicated on the question of how horrible it is. As the dumbing down of America and entertainment accelerates, “Horrible” is increasingly becoming the new “Hot”… I’m hearing Antoine Dodson will be featured on the remix…lol.

  8. I don’t understand why music industry posts like this help rubbish like this in getting hits! Don’t do it! Ignore it and it will go away, hopefully.
    I’m scarred for life now.

  9. I read yesterday that “Quality doesn’t matter because good enough is close enough in the internet era.”
Not saying that this is even “good enough” but like it or not, Ark Music Factory found something that works.

  10. Yup. Rest assured…
The millions of people eating this song up could care less about what people who look down on it think.
