Sony Playstation, Qriocity Music Unlimited Networks Still Down After 5 Days

image from www.blogcdn.com As of Monday morning, the Sony Playstation Networks and recently launched Sony Qriocity Music Unlimited Service both remained out of service. The troubles began on Wednesday and were caused by an "external intrusion" according to the company. Hackers alliance Anonymous, who recently targeted Sony, deny any involvement. The outage comes just months after Sony launched its long overdue music streaming service.

"An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services," according to Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media for Sony Playstation.  "In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th… We will continue to update you promptly as we have additional information to share."

  1. With PSN being free for consumers, but still costing money for Sony to maintain, this whole security issue is going to end up costing Sony nearly or to surpass Microsoft’s red ring issue.
