Songza Closes Funding Round, Adds Mobile Apps

image from tctechcrunch2011.files.wordpress.com(UPDATED) Songza has launched what the company says is the only free mobile apps that create personalized and sharable music collections in the cloud.  Songza also announced the close of a seven figure financing round led by Deep Fork Capital and other investors that had backed AmieStreet, the team's prior venture. Geoff Judge, co-founder of 24/7 Real Media, also participated in the new financing and joins Songza's Board of Directors.


Songza features over 75,000 playlists created by fans, music experts, celebrities, artists and record labels. Fans can create a playlist on the Songza.com website and share it choosing from a library of over 14.5 million songs. Songza is free of audio advertisements and has no monthly listening limits.

The Songza application is available now as free download in the US Apple App Store here and the US Android Market here.  A dedicated iPad application will be available sson according to the company
