UPDATED: Shakeup At Dangerbird As Castelaz and Solosky Exit To Launch Management Co.

image from www.google.com(UPDATED) Dangerbird Records co-founder Jeff Castelaz and General Manager Matt Solodky are both departing the company to re-launch Cast Management. They will handle a roster that includes the Dropkick Murphys and others. Castelaz is also known for his work with The Pablove Foundation, named after his late son Pablo, who succumbed to a rare form of pediatric cancer.

UPDATE:

In addition to the Dropkick Murphys, The Cast managemnt roster includes Eagles of Death Metal, Jesse Harris, Heartless Bastards, and record producers Tony Hoffer, Justin Meldal-Johnsen and Jacquire King, along with
other clients that had been part of the Dangerbird Management roster and handled by Castelaz.

The Silver Lake, CA based Dangerbird Records and Dangerbird Publishing will now be run by co-founder Peter Walker who also announced that Jenni Sperandeo will take over as president. Sperandeo joined the company in 2010 as head of promotion, and has been instrumental in developing Fitz and the Tantrums and Silversun Pickups.

Despite successes with Fitz and the Pickups, Dangerbird has not been immune to industry struggles.  Late last year, the company laid off 13 staffers, but appeared to be bouncing back with the new Sea Wolf "Old World Romance" release gaining early traction, and Bon Jovi collaborator Rich Sambora's "Aftermath of the Lowdown" due on Tuesday.

Dangerbird Records, Dangerbird Publishing and their affiliated recording studio were founded in 2004 Walker and Castelaz. A statement from the company says that Dangerbird plans to continue to sign and develop new artists as well as their current roster.
