If so, you should make the best of all that hard work. Touring is the best time to pick up some press interest and fan traction in each city you hit. StoryAmp wants to help.
StoryAmp is a website that allows artists to get their concert information and music into the email in-boxes of over 7000 music journalists in America and Canada. Journalists can then click through to access everything they need for a concert preview, calendar listing, or concert review. Journalists can then contact artists, managers, or publicists directly with requests for interviews, CDs, or anything else.
How To Enter
In honor of the annual trek to Austin, StoryAmp is running a contest to help bands increase the impact of their tours to or through Austin. If you are playing Austin this March and have concerts in at least fou
r other cities this Spring, tweet @StoryAmp with hashtag #austin with a URL to stream your audio and Spring tour dates. Twenty bands will be selected for a free, three-month premium StoryAmp tour PR. Choices will be made based on the quality of music and number of tour dates. All other entrants may use the free version of StoryAmp for basic concert listings sent to journalists in each relevant concert city. (If you do not use twitter, send an email to callie [at] storyamp [dot] com. The deadline for contest entry is February 7, 2014.
New Directory Of Music PR Firms
In addition, StoryAmp is launching a directory of music PR firms to be given away for free to members of the music industry. The completed directory will be launched during the SXSW panel titled "Today's Best Practices in Music Publicity," moderated by StoryAmp CEO Dmitri Vietze, and featuring publicists Andy Adelewitz of Paradigm Agency Publicity, Sarah Avrin of Girlie Action Media, and Rey Roldan of Reybee Public Relations. The panel is March 13 at 2 pm in room 10C of the convention center. If you are a publicist and would like to be added to the directory, please email callie [at] storyamp [dot] com for the submission form location.
