Resolution Agency Lands $200 Million From China’s Bison Captial

Jeff BergJeff Berg and Jeff Franklin's Resolution Talent, the film and music agency whose clients include Chris Brown, Cortney Love, R. Kelly, Natalie Imbruglia and The Wailers, have landed a major investment from overseas after Beijing-based Bison Capital Holdings acquired a stake in the company.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but a person with knowledge of the transaction said that Resolution received a capital infusion of $200 million. The deal will also see Resolution draw closer to Rupert Murdoch's News Corp as Jack Gao, chief executive of News Corp. China Investments joins Resolution's board of directors.

Bison Capital, led by Peixin Xu, holds a stake in a number of media firms, including AirMedia Group Inc., a Chinese advertising company. Resolution agent David Unger will oversee Resolution's business operations in China.

“In addition to the financial opportunity, we now have access to relationships and information that will be critical in enhancing our platform in China," Xu said in a statement. – Staff Writers
