Roadie Tuner Wins Audience Choice Award At Disrupt NY Battlefield

Roadie-tune-logoTechCrunch just held its Disrupt NY event and it includes a startup competition called Battlefield. Among the contestants was Band Industries with their Roadie Tuner device. They completed a highly successful Kickstarter in January and are now in pre-order phase.

Roadie Tuner sounds like an impressive device that basically connects to a tuning peg and tunes it after you've strummed the string. It doesn't work with wooden pegs but it does work with "any string instrument equipped with guitar machine heads."

Roadie Tuner: The ultimate guitarist tool

Roadie Tuner also supports custom tuning, helps you wind and rewind strings and offers an "Instrument Doctor" feature:

"Roadie App allows you to create a profile for your instrument, it keeps track of your strings quality, would advise you when it’s time to restring, and logs your instrument maintenance information."

Pretty impressive if the final product works as described on delivery. I can see why their Kickstarter campaign received $178,613 in pledges with only a $60k goal.

Disrupt NY 2014 is a TechCrunch tech event that includes a Battlefield startup competition. Roadie was this year's Audience Choice winner.

Roadie Tuners are expected to be shipped in July.
