Rockbot Scores New Funding From Universal Music, Detroit Venture and More

rockbotRockbot today announced that the company has closed an additional round of financing. The round is led by Detroit Venture Partners and includes top global music group Universal, Susa Ventures, XG Ventures, Susa Ventures, and an AngelList syndicate led by Sundeep Ahuja. Previous investors include Google Ventures and Accelerator Ventures.

Rockbot is used by bars and restaurants to manage their music using a social jukebox app for iPhone and Android. The app sees the average user spends 220 minutes engaging with the location’s environment, and sees over ten times more check-in activity per location than Facebook and Foursqua. Rockbot’s location growth is accelerating at 2015% month over month.

New companies using the app include JetBlue Airways and Station Casinos in Las Vegas. JetBlue’s New York City terminal alone contributes an audience of six million listeners per year.
