Shazam Unveils Hall of Fame Recognizing Most Shazamed Artists & App Overhaul

Xmh41AJ3JEn5Ls4yxQprA_fSVC58bc8TctTnAHSxf30,GiwDbBsjUQfpz7omS-8wQNidBl4idAYJkHEhmn05FVEEarlier this morning, Shazam unveiled its Hall of Fame honoring artists who have been Shazamed millions of times. A formal facelift was also revealed this morning in the form of a new and improved Shazam.com and mobile app, where for the first time fans can search for tracks to find the number of times artists and songs have been Shazamed, lyrics, artist info and more. With these updates and a new arena to highlight the success of talented artists, Shazam hopes to become the place music calls home.

Shazam has long since had a unique perspective on the music business. By nature of their app, they have insight into what is going to be popular before it happens and for the first time since inception, they intend to use that data competitively. Prior to these updates, Shazam has primarily been a destination for song identification and discovery – now users will be able to identify trends, have access to the latest music news, receive taste based recommendations and thanks to the company's collaborative approach, Spotify users can create cross-platform playlists within the Shazam app. All of these updates bode well for the future of Shazam and its role in the music business.

Released this morning, Shazam inducted over 80 artists into it's Hall of Fame. Below is a preview of the website's new look and a list of the Top 25 Most Shazamed Artists of 2014.
