Virtual Reality Concerts: Music TV Network REVOLT Partners With Jaunt

virtual realityVirtual reality is the hyped to be the breakthrough technology of 2015. Now, TV network Revolt has partnered with hardware and software company Jaunt to bring the VR experience to concerts.

REVOLT SVP of sales and partnerships, Mike Roche, announced at SXSW Music a first-in-class music partnership with Jaunt, the company building the hardware and software to make an immersive cinematic VR possible. REVOLT and Jaunt have teamed up to film and release 360-degree, immersive performances at REVOLT Studios in Hollywood and REVOLT events across the country. .

image from www.celebrityaccess.comDuring SXSW Music, festivalgoers got a first-look at an exclusive performance by Grammy-nominated artist Big Sean in Jaunt's cinematic virtual reality at the REVOLT House on Rainey Street. The house at SXSW will feature day performances by artists including Alex Winston, Chris Webby ft. Bobby Grant, Hiatus Kaiyote, James Davis, Joey Badass, Joywave, Mini Mansions, Priory, Public Service Broadcasting, Revel In Dimes, Towkio, Two-9 and YNGCULT with more names to be announced.

"Our audience is craving more access to their favorite artists and we are proud to put a stake in delivering innovative VR content that brings them beyond the front row," stated REVOLT TV SVP of sales and partnerships Mike Roche.

Jaunt CEO Jens Christensen adds, "Concert and festival environments are perfectly suited for virtual reality and our content provides fans with a truly unique opportunity to feel like they're up close and personal with their favorite artist."

REVOLT is currently available in 46 of the 50 top U.S. markets on Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, CenturyLink and Suddenlink, including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, and DC.  - via Celebrity Access
