Ex-Ticketmaster CEO Hubbard Named Twitter’s Head Of Media After More Key Execs Exit, Stock Tumbles

Twitter_logo_blueIt's been a rough couple of months at Twitter with a steady stream of key executives either being shown the door or exiting for safer positions elsewhere. To help fill the void, former Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard, who was most recently Twitter's VP of Commerce, will take over the social network's media team on an interim basis.

Twitter_logo_blueTwitter's  stock, which is trading at an all time low, fell another 2.7% Tuesday morning to $16.56.

Prior two Hubbard's appointment, Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey took to social media service late Sunday to confirm that four of the company's top executives were exiting the firm. The the head of Vine – a service for short videos that Twitter acquired in 2012 – has also left.

The four latest executives departing Twitter are: Kevin Weil (head of product); Katie Jacobs Stanton (head of media); Alex Roetter (head of engineering); and Skip Schipper (head of HR). Re/Code reported that some of the departures were willing and some not. Vine's Jason Toff tweeted that he was leaving the firm, to join Google. “All four of them will be taking some well-deserved time off,” said Mr. Dorsey Tweeted.

The departure of so many of the company's senior executives comes as Twitter is facing an existential crisis. The firm's stock is trading near all-time lows and it has struggled to generate continued user growth and momentum.

The company is also reportedly in the midst of a fundamental evaluation of its platform, with an eye towards making it more accessible to the mainstream, including changes to core features such as expanding the length of tweets from its current maximum of 140 characters to a much longer format, the New York Times reported.
