Adele Tops Ivor Novello Songwriting Awards 2016 Winners

AdelleAdele took top honors as Songwriter of the Year at Britain's prestigious Ivor Novello songwriting awards on Thursday night.. Adele, who won the award this year for her her third album, "25," took home the same award in 2012 for her last album, "21."

Other winners for the night included Damon Albarn, who was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Conor O’Brien, who won best album for his work on the Villagers' "Darling Arithmetic." The inspiration award went to "Madchester" band Happy Mondays, while Simple Minds won the outstanding song collection prize.

The 61st annual Ivor Novello Awards are presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music and weer held at the Grosvenor House, London on May 19th.

  1. it’s a joke – yes her album sold shedloads, yes they are great, yes the songs are ok as her previous 2 albums but how can she be hailed as a great songwriter when NONE of any of her 3 album tracks are solo compositions ? every single one is co-written…
