Apple Music honcho Jimmy Iovine is making deals to bring much more video to the service. That new emphasis on video will reportedly be the cornerstone of a revamped music app when Apple introduces the next version of its iOS operating software later this year.

Iovine all but confirmed Apple Music's video ambitions in an interview with Bloomberg: “A music service needs to be more than a bunch of songs and a few playlists. I’m trying to help Apple Music be an overall movement in popular culture, everything from unsigned bands to video. We have a lot of plans.” Several of the shows have been announced that provide a hint at just how music-centered Iovine's video plans are including exclusives on documentaries about Cash Money Records, Bad Boy Records and Clive Davis, plius original shows like “Planet of the Apps,” the recently delayed “Carpool Karaoke” and "Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” from Live Nation and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
