Beep Raises $4 Million In Second Seed Round, Adds Spotify Connectivity

Y Combinator graduate Beep has raised an additional $4 million for its connected audio device. This second seed funding round comes from a consortium of investors including Garry Tan, Alexis Ohanian, Justin Kan, Tony Hsieh and David Dolby of Dolby Labs. Dolby also participated in a $1.6 million June Seed round along with the VegasTechFund, Fuel Capital and others.

Beep adds wireless connectivity to tradition speakers, receivers, and docks. "Just plug it in, connect via cable to your speakers, and enter your Wi-Fi password using the Beep app for iOS or Android…Together, Beeps play synchronized music throughout your home." Beep recently began shipping its first round of devices and is taking orders for a second batch.

Along with the new funding, Beep has added Spotify as a connected service via the newish Spotify Connect option within all Spotify mobile apps.  Here is what it looks like:
