Rapper Birdman and his label Cash Money are suing Jay Z and his Tidal streaming service for $50 million claiming that the company is desperate and illegally using Lil Wayne to save its failing business.
In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Birdman Cash Money claiming Tidal is making a "a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service."
Countering Tidal's claim that Cash Money is not Lil Wayne's exclusive label, the lawsuit shares portions of a contract that specifically sates that Wayne does not have the power to license his music to anyone other than Cash Money.
Further, Cash Money claims that Wayne's got such "tepid reviews" it will devalue the labels future efforts to promote his music.
