France based streaming music service Deezer is in serious talk with Samsung about an alliance that could include an investment by the Korean electronics firm, according to a French newspaper. Deezer, which has said it plans to enter the U,S. in 2014 has 12 million users spread over 200+ countries.
Deezer has established partnerships with several telecoms including Orange, Belgacom, Everything Everywhere, Deutsch Telekom. But the Samsung deal would likely be its largest yet.
These talks come just 2 months after Spotify increased its war chest by $250 million in new investments and days before Beats Music launches.
Le Journal du Dimanche first reposted the story which was then picked up by Reuters UK.
