The Financial Times is reporting that the EU Commission will re-approve the merger of Sony and BMG later this month that had been annulled with a lawsuit brought by EU indie music trade group IMPALA.
If approved, the merger will be a blow to the indie label sector who had hoped to stop the merger trend. It should also restart the rumor mill regarding some kind of WMG and EMI combination.
